Summer break, no, summer MINISTRY!

Summer break has come for our International Bible Training Center (IBTC) students, who have completed their first of three years of ministry training at Deaf Missions.  For the typical college student, summer break might mean going to a beach and getting a tan, jumping off waterfalls, or relaxing by watching television and sipping on ice-cold lemonade.  However, our students are not taking a break, they are participating in various ministry opportunities!

Two of our students, Dallas and Javier, along with one of our IBTC instructors, Alex Abenchuchan, and his wife, Alexa, are part of a mission team flying to Africa today.  They will minister at deaf orphanages and run camps for deaf people in Kenya and Uganda for the next couple months.

Another two IBTC students, David and Joseph, are departing today and heading to southern California, where they will be working with churches and ministries to reach deaf people who are in prison, entrapped in substance abuse or are involved in gangs.

Furthermore, Jason and Mistie, a married couple in our training program, will hit the road soon to Austin, Texas, where they will work with a Deaf preacher there to minister and reach people in one of the largest Deaf communities in the United States.

Can you imagine the impact that Deaf Missions can make upon deaf people who do not know Jesus here and abroad?  Even though the IBTC is only a year old, it is already making a difference for God’s kingdom.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support.  God bless you!
